Back to Our Roots in Jamaica

Shauna and Tamika Barnes are going on a house hunt in their family’s homeland of Jamaica. With five family members involved and their parents on a fixed income, it won’t be easy to find a property that satisfies everyone’s wish list. Mom wants an ocean view, Dad wants fruit trees. And while Tamika wants a modern, turnkey home, Shauna wouldn’t mind putting in a little work and personal touch on the right place. The Barnes’ dream of owning a little piece of Jamaica is about to come true but not without compromise.

Wednesday 5/11

Escape to St John, U.S. Virgin Islands

Sandra and Barkley have frequented St. John over the years and even said their ‘I do’s’ on the island. But their 10 year plan to move to St. John quickly became and immediate reality when a major Chicago snow storm destroyed their apartment. Barkley will be working from home and would love to live in the more popular Cruz Bay area, while Sandra wants to be further from town so she can enjoy some peace and quiet.

Thursday 5/12

Bicycling in Groningen

Mike and Stacia are recent empty nesters and when Mike’s job offered a transfer to Groningen, Netherlands, they jumped at the chance to fulfill a lifelong dream of living in Europe. They love riding bikes and Groningen is just what the doctor ordered. But Mike wants the serenity of the country life and Stacia has her heart set on city life. Finding a compromise that fits their budget could be a challenge in the tough rental market of Froningen. Will they end up paying for location in Groningen, Netherlands?

Rolling in Kaiserslautern, Germany

David, Janet and their son Brandon usually relocate within the U.S. for Janet’s job but this time they’ve decided to do something out of the ordinary–by moving abroad for the first time to Kaiserslautern, Germany. David, Janet and Brandon are avid cyclists so finding a home that can fit their nine bikes, and drastically different priorities, will be a tough road for real estate agent Kryspina.
